ABOUT THE ARTIST

Valentine Kovatchev born in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1953 in a family of lawyers and diplomats.

Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Sofia, specialty engraving, in 1981.

Artist, curator, teacher, editor and curator has organized and participated in numerous exhibitions and art exhibitions nationally and internationally in countries such as Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany , France, Belgium, Italy, Spain , Finland, Switzerland and England, among other, has also participated as a jury member in various awards and biennial painting, drawing and printmaking.

In 1992 he married in Spain and settled in Benalmádena (Málaga), where he currently resides.

In 1994, for the first time in Spain, runs a course of etching inaugurating the Workshop Engraving Museum of Goya in Fuendetodos.

In 1995 he was appointed Corresponding Malaga by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Seville.

In 1996 he was named Academic Senate by the International Academy of Modern Art, Rome. This year get the Goya Silver Medal “X Latin American Art Biennial ” in Mexico City, representing Spain.

In 1999 he obtained Spanish citizenship.

His work has been recognized and awarded nationally and internationally on numerous occasions and is represented in numerous public and private collections worldwide .
